This strikes me as even more amazing than the watermelon swimmer, if perhaps a bit less original in terms of breadth (it's carved out of a pencil lead...).

Trust me to notice but the fact that the lead isn't rounded made me wonder what's going on. Then it hit me: that's no ordinary pencil- it's a carpenter's pencil which makes it even more brilliant to my mind. It reminds me of the time when I took a life drawing class with sculpture students and got them to carve their charcoal instead of drawing with it!
